Is anyone having trouble with proboards? All browsers. Over the last few days, response seems really slow. It could however be my system, since I have just regressed from Windows 8 to XP sp3. And had problems in the process, of course.

The only problem I have had lately is that occasionally when I attempt to open a thread, it takes me back to the main menu. Proboards does get frustrating every now and then. Ralph may know what is going on and could check and see if it is a problem on his other Proboards forum.

Clip, what you're experiencing happens to me when I run the latest version of Firefox. So I always run an old version. Right now, I'm running Firefox 14 rather than the latest, 19.
The slow response might be my virus program, Kaspersky. However, I don't have a slow response problem on other sites.

Dave, mine has been very slow for the past week also on the Corner. No problems on other sites either. I didn't say anything cause I thought it was just my computer.

I've been having problems myself at times, whether on FF or IE.
I know there is some shifting on the servers going on as ProBoards moves into it's v.5 version. Whether this has anything to do with or not I'm not sure, but I'll look into it in the next few days.

Thanks, Bz. Ralph, that could be about the servers. Things seem ok on the morestories.proboards.com forum, but I know it could be on a different server. And this is not a big problem. I just wondered if it was proboards or if my "post Win 8" system was the problem. I went back to XP and gave Win 8 the boot. I got tired of constantly having to deal with compatibility issues every time I turned around. My Lenovo has a feature where it will return itself to the exact state it was when it left the factory, sort of an ultimate (but true) system restore. Since most of my software is of the downloaded variety and I have CD's for Word, I took the nuclear option, ate the $40 I paid for Win 8, picked up my marbles and went home to XP. All OK with one exception. I don't know how I did it but I forgot to backup my mail. Luckily, I had an old Thunderbird profile with everything in it but the last six months. So everything I've done and everyone new I've met is lost until they write me.

I don't blame you Dave, I haven't heard a lot of great things about Win 8. Might be nice for some folks but I'll stick with XP and 7!

Like others, I've had slow operation on this board lately. Yesterday was something different. I made a reply in the Mystery Lake thread. When I hit the Post Reply button, wheels spun for a long time and then I got a message to the effect that the server had timed out. I went back into the thread to repeat and my post was there. I thought all was well but as I scan down the Home screen, it still shows Dave's post as being the last one in the thread. Not a big deal but something of a mystery.

Same thing happened to me Clarence. I posted a comment, it showed up in the thread when you opened it, but a previous post was what showed on the menu, not the latest post I had just made. Very strange indeed.
