www.ecogeek.org/content/view/1341/It was almost a year ago that we told you about Enercon's previous absolutely-massive, largest-in-the-world wind turbine, the E-112. Well now Enercon's outdone itself once again with a 126 meter diameter wind turbine called (of course) the E-126. The best part of this article is the photo at the end of the story. See if you can spot the tiny human's working in the generator. I think I found one but it made me a little dizzy straining to see.

Now, if we had a couple thousand of those just off the Long Island coast, NYC's power needs would be satisfied for many years to come. We could then impose a massive power line through Long Island to share some of it up here. That thing is massive.

Man, that thing rivals the size of the turbines in Hoover Dam. But they're anchored in millions of tons of concrete.
I'll be okay with the power line you suggest, swimmy, as long as it doesn't impact the new Yankee Stadium.
NIMYBY!!

Oh no, the New Yankee Stadium will be safe under my plans. And rather than face state politics and the severe NIMBY of downstate, I'll start out with the federal government first. lol!
I'm serious though, a wind farm on the open waters posses very practical solution to the nimby and they environmentalists. It also will pick up stronger winds.
Maybe after I finish studying I'll put together a plan and pitch it to Spitzer himself. It's worth a shot.
