I was on a Daily Press page of October 18, 1962 and about to leave, when I saw "teenagers KO ... accident." I hadn't checked the date of the page at that point and thought the accident might one I remembered from my days when friends and myself tore up the roads around Utica with only 16 summers under our belt and nothing under our hats. But you're younger than me, and it wasn't my crowd. hahaha!

That is amazing. What are the odds that having not even known each other back then, and the fact that you were looking for something entirely unrelated, would come across that particular article or that particular edition of the Daily Press?

Okay Dave, talked to Mark Domser yesterday at St. E's hospital and here's the facts he told me about his family. Ira "F" Domser is Mark's grandfather. Ira F., was the State Senator and he was the owner of the Domser's Creamery. The Creamery was on Trenton Rd near Carver Rd. (I think that's the spelling.) Anyways it was near Firehouse Rd. The Domser's owned two houses on Trenton Rd. The first was Mark's aunt's home, next to hers was Mark's grandfather's (Ira F.'s) home and right next to Ira F.'s home was the Creamery. Ira F. was one of the founders of the Deerfield Fire Department. Ira F.'s other son, Frank Domser, was Deerfield's town supervisor for many years. Ira "L" Domser (Ira F.'s son) is Mark's father and is the dentist who is now retired. Mark took over his business. Ira L. was on the school board. Ira L. has two son's.....Mark Domser & Ira F. Domser. This is all I can remember. Hope this helps out. I'll be seeing Mark in the near future if you have any more questions.

Also, many of the links above were broken when Proboards updated this forum. Strangely, the new Proboards doesn't allow filenames with imbedded spaces, unless they are coded that way in the post. Anyway, I fixed them.

'Old' Ira lived across the lake from us when I lived on Kayuta Lake. It was a summer home but they had it fixed up luxuriosly. Doc was a great guy. Is HE still alive BZ? I saw the obit for her in the OD. She was a nice lady. We used to chat with her and her first husband quite often when we went to White Birch Inn on Fairchild Road..

Yes Clip, Ira L. Domser is still alive and doing well. He outlived two wives. Back in the early 60's when we moved to N.Utica he became our family's dentist and now his son, Mark Domser, is our family's dentist. Both great dentist and very nice family, involved in many community affairs.
