Do you mean the crash or my story? I was living in Syracuse at the time. No Dave, I meant the crash. Just don't remember anything about it. I never read about it till now.

Fascinating that more people weren't killed in this tragedy. Unbelievable!

Looking at the date again of this tragedy I realize why I don't remember it. Wasn't a very good year, actually a few years, for me. In 1972 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and we had a little one we had just adopted and both were my main focus. Wasn't into too much happening in the world at that time. It was driving me nuts wondering why I didn't know about this. At least now I know why the blank memory.

It's pretty much burned into my memory, because it was 2 years after my plane accident in March of 1970 in Binghamton. I was still having dreams. When I heard about it at work, I remember being really upset. I had to leave and go home. Actually, I went to a bar and got home early the next morning. Sounds like what I do when an recent incident reminds me of a bad one in my past. It's all good cause we're both survivors.

Something I've been meaning to pass along since last summer. When you posted the story about the fighter jet crash in Westmoreland I was reminded that in the southwest corner of that intersection there is a flag pole with a small flower garden around it. I thought it could be some sort of memorial to the crash. I've been passing through that intersection on my way to & from the Thruway ever since I moved here. Last summer I took a moment to stop.
It's dedicated to those from Walesville who served in the Armed Forces. No mention about who built or maintains it but the flowers are replanted each spring. There must be a story behind it somewhere.
