The author of one of my favorite online comics "xkcd" also does a weekly What If column. This week's column is about lightning. I spent 2 years in grad school studying atmospheric electricity so I could probably be considered a "lightning bug." I thought the column was interesting and amusing and the link to the video of a lightning stroke was awesome. I've never seen one quite like that. what-if.xkcd.com/16/ For those who don't regularly read it, here is a link to today's funny what-if.xkcd.com/16/With all of his comics if you hover your mouse over the drawing a text box will pop up with a related joke. The "PREV" button will allow you to step backward through his strips. I would love to meet Randall (the site's author). He's knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics and views life, the universe & everything with a skewed sense of humor.

Fantastic video. I like Randall's humor, too.
