Just watching Newchannel 2 and there have been 11 incidents of shot fired in the past week. One was into a barber shop during the day while open. What is this city becoming Alan, it's not just Utica. Was watching the Syracuse news earlier and their Mayor said they too are having the same problems with shootings just as many other cities also. The problem is the idea these "witnesses" have of snitching. That way of thinking is allowing those doing the random shootings to get away with it and they will continue until someone works with the police and gives out names. I find it rather funny that those same "witnesses" are the first to bitch about the police not doing their jobs when these shootings occur. It's time to ditch the old way of thinking and time for all to co-operate with the police.

Their brass ones are getting bigger. They did this mere blocks from a car accident that had several patrol cars as well as fire apparatus on the scene. The lights could be seen for blocks. And these weren’t handgun loads, but 7.62 x 39’s being fired from an assault weapon.
Gives a whole new meaning to “go big or go home”.

Some are just total idiots that get their hands on a gun and think they are back in the wild west. Got to add many are just plain stupid too. Like the 36 year old man yesterday that pulled a gun on someone in an argument and then walked to Varick St where there was plenty of police presence. Unlucky for him because the victim followed him and pointed him out to the police who immediately arrested him finding a loaded 9mm handgun and MJ in his pockets. Can't get any dumber then that. I wouldn't advise doing what the victim did by following him cause that could be very dangerous but I do give the victim many kudos for being willing to identify his attacker to the police. When the public is willing to break that "silence code" then and only then will our streets become safe once again.

Not only did he have pot on him, he had packets of heroine also. One more dangerous pistol packing dealer and scumbag off the street for now.

Well Alan, today the UPD just got another shooter off our streets. Get one and the others will follow cause not like the old days when even the criminals had some loyalty, these scumbags today will definitely bring their brothers down with them. It's all good for us. ;D
