the Royals were 3 Migliachio brothers and one cousin. Later they changed names to become celebration. One of them became a singer with the national group BOSTON.

No, we were around from 65-68, were originally out of the Oneida area but were signed by Hank Brown. Appeared on Twist A Rama many times and played all over the Mohawk Valley. Also competed in many battle of the bands, including one at the Utica Aud which we won.

Our group, The Nitecaps, was the house band at Massoud's in Washington Mills for a couple of years in the early 60s. We did a double gig on New Years Eve (1962 I think). Packed house that night. We were upstairs and a group called, "Ralph and the Royals" was downstairs. Is this the same group? We were all just kids at the time (compared to how old we are now).

OK, must have been a different group. Ralph and his boys were a very tight group in 1962 and must have been working hard for a few years previously.
I remember that New Years Eve gig... I played bass with The Nitecaps (4 pieces) and got sick half way through the evening. The bass player for the Royals (5 pieces) came upstairs and filled in for me for the rest of the gig. Sadly, I never got his name.

Hey Kit..... Ralph & the Royals did consist of the 3 Migliaccio brothers...Tom on bass, Fran on guitar (who progressed as a member of the band Boston) and Ralph on drums. They were the premier band back in my high school days, and they were very good. Sadly, I believe Tom passed away years ago, I think Fran is sill out there playing, and I'm unsure of what Ralph is doing. Also, I think a cousin was playing rhythm guitar....maybe Sal Aversa ? Could be wrong on that one.....Hope my memory serves me correctly....gettin pretty old....

Ralph and the Royals changed names and became Celebration. I believe the cousin was Joe Nuzo. He later founded a great trio called the Bandella Brothers.

Must have been Tom Migliaccio who spelled me on bass that New Years Eve I got sick. I remember going downstairs on one of our breaks and listening to them. You're right... they were a class act. I remember we all had tuxes from Rudys and chatted and laughed about it, wondering what musicians owned them before we did and who bought them when we sold them back.
DL... we're ALL getting old at this point. Good thing we still have our memories (or most of it).

It's Joe Nuccio with Barry and John but I can't remember their last names. Joe ran Reggie's in Whitesboro for a while. John moved to Florida. Barry works as a dealer at the casino and Joe still has his dog grooming business going. In fact, Joe is a guest on WKTV during the noon news every week. Joe and Barry still play out together every once in a while.
