www.goldensilents.com/kids/jackiecoogan.htmlThis is about Jackie Googan who is a very far distant relative. It would have been an offshoot of the Rosecran's family in Syracuse, NY which is connected with my grandmothers family which is the Newlove family. He was also a child star. The money he made was squandered by his step father because he was a child which started Coogan's Law which protected the money made by child actors

Great story Alan. I never knew that Coogan was raised in Syracuse, and never had heard the story of his fight for his earnings or the "Coogan Law." I learned a lot from that story. I also never realized that the Addam's Family only ran for two years. I never knew that Coogan was the person behind the law that protects the earnings of child stars even today. I know stars such as Lindsay Lohan and others in recent years have had court cases involving fathers trying to cheat them out of their bucks. I loved uncle Fester. He was my favorite member of the family. Lurch was the second most revered in MY eyes. I KNEW you had plenty of stories to relate that would grab our interest. That is cool. Now I just want to know DID YOU INHERIT UNCLE FESTUS'S GOOD LOOKS??? ROFL!

Jackie Coogan certainly had an interesting childhood and life in general. Imagine having Charlie Chaplin as a good friend... and being married to Betty Grable back in the 30s? Apparently it wasn't the best marriage in the world, but hey... it was Betty Grable... the most famous pin-up girl of WW-II. (Sheesh... when I was young, my girlfriends mostly looked like Olive Oyl!)

Oh... by the way... the "Cooper" in the title of this thread should be "Coogan"

Fester was one of my mentors, he could invent things! Morticia was the Bomb and Gomez was such a debonair chap, if only my French was better!
