I hope the guy gets the help he needs and is able to recover and find living worthwhile. Very sad that someone would be driven to the point of jumping into the Niagara. I am uneasy simply looking over the wall at all that rushing water and that enormous precipice. I was always amazed that anyone was actually comfortable fishing from a boat above the falls. A stalled motor and the swift water can carry a boat from Grand Island Bridge to the falls in no time at all. I have also always been afraid to ride the maid of the mist, with the whirlpool just down river a ways. It is a miracle that he was carried over the falls and not dashed on the rocks at the foot of the falls.

Unbelievable, a second one went over a little while ago, he's not looking so lucky as the first. Sad to think life sucked that bad.

Clip, having my camp at Delta Lake for over 15 years I lost count on how many stupid fishermen either got their boats hung up on the dam or went over it and the dummies are still doing it. Helena was constantly sending their boat over by request of the Sheriff's Department to pull the dummies off the dam. Just unbelievable

I don't suggest suicide is appropriate ever but if they must do it, have some friggin dignity and don't make a damn spectacle of yourself, think about the children!!!!
Extract of Hemlock, Arsenic or get a good shrink. These folks watch too much TV, so sad...

I read later in the day about another young man that went over the falls. He had planned the trip for years. He wanted to be the first to do it with a kayak. He DID NOT survive. Pieces of his kayak were found. He was missing. I guess that was not classified as a suicide attempt, but it damn sure was a suicidal venture. What differentiates that foolish stunt from a clear suicide? The fact that he left no note??

Yep. You are correct Alan. And your clothes wouldn't get wet that way either.

Well that is true but it would leave a big stain.
