Anyone that would put an unrestrained 6 foot alligator in the back seat of a car must have an I.Q. of MINUS 20!!!!!!
(you would never hear about a woman doing this-LOL)

Can we please stop with the women are better innuendos? My experience has shown me that women can be just as stupid. No one would have thought a bunch of teeny boppin' girls would gang up and beat the crap out of an innocent girl, but there's video evidence of that.

How cool would it be to have an aligator in your pond?! I'd hate to be the landowner's attorney swimming through those legal ramifications! LOL!

Swimmy - You are getting too sensitive! When did you ever hear of a woman that would "pick up a Gator off the side of a road" and bring it to a friend's pond? I agree that some women do stupid things like holding up traffic when the light turns green and they have not finished putting all their lipstick on!

No, I'm not getting too sensitive, I'm just getting annoyed with the innuendos that women are better than men. For every example a woman can pose of how horrible men can be (and there are many) I can usually proffer one or two where women have done the same thing or worse.
I just don't see the point of rubbing it in because both sexes are equally stupid at times.

Swimmy - Wouldn't an alligator on someone's property be considered an "attractive nuisance"? No Insurance Company would ever provide the owner of this property with any type of policy, including a Homeowner's policy. Most Insurance Companies won't issue a Homeowner's policy if the owner has a dog that is on their "Hit List". You better believe an alligator would be at the top of their "Hit List" - LOL!

;D I wonder if they would have"redlined" my homeowners because my ex- wife was menapausal, and bi-polar. I would rather have the gator in my back seat! I would feel MUCH safer turning my back on the gator! haha ;D

Clipper - "Red lining" is when an Insurance Company won't write insurance policies based on an area (like Cornhill). Many, many years ago, Insurance Companies actually had maps that were marked in RED for areas that they would NOT issue any policies - regardless of how good the insured and/or his/her property was. This is against the law and if any Insurance Company is found doing this - there are severe consequences.
Underwriting criteria/Guidelines is something entirely different and is perfectly legal. Certain breeds of dogs are too much of a liability exposure and ALL Insurance Companies have the right to refuse to issue a Homeowner's Policy if the insured has one of these breed of dogs listed on their "Hit List" of bad dogs.
I didn't make these rules and use to argue with Management all the time as I'm a great believer that no dog is born vicious - their owner made them that way. My oldest daughter had a Domerman Pincer, unneuter male, that was a big baby; her cats use to beat him up all the time - LOL!

An attractive nuiance is where you have a tire swing over a pond. It's attractive to children and you have a special duty to make the land safe for trespassing children because society places a higher standard of care for them, i.e. they don't konw any better.
Though I guess it could qualify as an attractive nuisance. lol Curiosity drawing them in. But my understanding of an attractive nuisance is that it relates to children.
You would certainly be held strictly liable for any damages incurred on your land because you are hosting a dangerous animal. And there is an actual case where a person kept an alligator in their pool as a pet. The court declared that as a matter of law (the jury doesn't get to decide) alligators are dangerous animals and the owner is strictly liable for any injuries. In otherwords, there is no defense for the owner.
