This is geared mostly for all you shy aways from texting due to minutes etc........ I was on my iPod Touch the other day playing Angry Birds and got an ad pop up. Usually I just get rid of them but this time decided to go on my computer and check it out. (free so what the hell) I have tracphone and so can't text international but decided to send one using textfree to Poland....that country is not on the list so did not go thru. So then being the ever so curious animal that I am I decided to text someone in AZ and immediately got an answer and had a short conversation. Okay now I'm hooked so lets see who else I can bug. Texted my nephew in Utica but no response right away so as soon as I was WiFi connected later visiting my mom I checked my app on my iPod Touch and there was a missed call and voicemail. I decided to listen to the voicemail but instead it rang him and we had a phone conversation on my iPod. Pretty Cool I think. So you people can use your computers to text your friends or kids. Texting is unlimited right from your com puter or if you have an iPod Touch then can do what I did. Just go to www.pinger.com then look for Textfree ;D (come on I know you want to)

OK I can see using my computer of even a netbook but using a Touch or (horrors) my little dumb phone is deadly to my hands and stressful on my eyes. Maybe if I was in a car accident, rolled into a ravine, was trapped and unable to talk ...

CB...the APP is on my iTouch but mainly I got hooked cause I don't need a cell and can text from my computer.......this is great and why I posted.....for those that would like to text to their kids or friends cause they are attached to their cells and can reach them faster than a PC message. The bonus to me was that I can call also cause I have a device aka iTouch ....give it up ...and its free (and I save my minutes on my cell that I text with..but rarely)
Its just another option for you. Just sayin ;D

virgilgal.......let me know how it works out for you. A friend mentioned another one to me that I will check out...maybe this one will allow me my international texting for free. The others I checked out did not do outside USA. The one I am using is vey user friendly unlike TextPlus. heywire.com/video.php

I think I have it all sent up. I sent a text to my daughter last night but didn't hear back I know a lot of people prefer to text now. A few years ago my nephew set up a Google email for me as you can apparently text free from that. I never figured it out or used it as I have one email I have used for many years and didn't want to deal with another one. I hope to force someone to text me today to check it out!

You may want to call her or email her with your phone # so that she knows it is you. Alot of people will not respond to text if they do not recognize the phone #. I know on my tracphone in order to see who sent it I must view it and then get stuck with minutes by having viewed it. That is the downside. Out of 5 only one didn't answer my text because of that. The other thing I have observed is how conditioned I am to instant. I think I was expecting an answer almost immediately and it just doesn't work that way. They may not be available or read their messages as they get them. Same for at my end when they do respond.
