I'm surprised no one has brought up the topic of Dick Clark's passing. I had the honor of meeting him & his wife Kari a couple times in L. A. In fact, my family & I were his guests at the American Bandstand 50th Anniversary. We were treated like V. I. P.s I can tell you Dick was VERY proud of his Utica roots and the time he spent at WKTV & WRUN. BTW, He was never on WRUN 1150. His father wouldn't let him on. His father did allow him on WRUN-FM. Dick told me his father said it was ok because no one was listening. Remember this was in the late 40's early 50's. No one had a FM receiver! WKTV has a very nice tribute to him on their webpage. www.wktv.com/slideshows/WKTV-History-134873428.html

Dick Clark's passing was brought up here on the Corner under "National/World News." He will surely be missed and remembered by many here locally and nationally.
