I agree it's just as unbelievable to me as the police walking into my living room. Are you telling me I imagined that? Sorry regardless of what you believe that's what happened I guess I don't know what to tell you or what makes you sound so incredulous that that happened. Utica just settled out of court with some black kid because they got a call to some crime and saw him up the street in his house looking out his 3rd story living room window so they arrested him and discharged him when they realized the mistake. Welcome to today's world. Regarding the complaining part it's clear from the cop's attitude he wasn't too concerned with anyone's complaints but he heard them all the way to the court where they had to let me go. What else do you think there is to hide? They took it up with the owner who was finishing the work in preparation for the closing I eventually gave up on. I'm glad I did.
Broomer, you're making statement without giving all the facts which then I can't make any comments on. I can throw out stuff also but I usually don't do that without some facts that can be verified. Otherwise it's only hearsay and I tend not to put much weight on that. If what you stated is true and that officer did not have a warrant to enter your home (he had no legal right to do that) then you have a good law suit to pursue so why didn't you? If I were subjected to what you say you were I sure as hell would have. There are always steps to take if you have a legitimate complaint or concern. I believe in taking those steps instead of just complaining and ignoring my right to defend myself. As you can see and others here on the Corner know I hide nothing and if you do know me then message me and let me know how I know your family.
Bobby I am aware as I was at the time that I could file a suit, but I'm not the suing kind of person, at least not over that. I don't exactly need or want their money why should other people pay because these two boneheads wandered on into my home? I was satisfied with Popeo's summation of the events and walked back to the house and handled it a better way. By making up my mind I wasn't going to fund this kind of circus if that's how they deal with a counter renovation. Where I'm from people don't act like this and it's not just them. I mean I just don't see how I can prove facts unless you expect me to upload some kind of video. I can't but who would just make such a thing up? It is as I say I'm not interested in whether I can meet your standards of belief Ma'am. Sorry but. My older sister, a real estate developer/flipper was happy to hear I'd changed my mind she freaked out and told me I was insane when I told her I was buying it. It all comes back to people's attitude when dealing with their duties around here. There are epidemic problems here. but sometimes the good can offset it, like being near old family. I was happy to pay for it before I realized they and most others around on the clock really didn't give a hoot about us, the law or the people that would be paying for the lawsuits they incur. These people aren't the first I've run across or heard about that simply don't care. You can tell them you're not who they're looking for and their answer is "I don't care I've been a cop for 30 years". You can deny it happened but I'll never forget I heard such delicious irony or stop telling people about it for the rest of my life. Nobody would forget that verbatim Bobby, It's quite a slap in the face. And at the same time I was costing buying and renovating the house next to Meolas across from the COB. My family, we're builders and know how to fix problem houses well. That would have been fun and nice too but again why put in when you can see the people who work for the city have a wholly different agenda than advertized in most cases? For what performance? I asked the water meter guy to explain to me how the water rates worked four times in 10 minutes during a visit but he kept going on for 4 minutes in circles rather than saying "water costs X per Y". Nope that was my first hint these people were a little crazy here. Now what's left? More people leaving and the subsequent downsizing. I can't cry too much. They ask for it in so many ways. Why put up with it all?

Boomer, never asked you to meet my standards. I gave solid suggestions on how one should handle a situation as the one you stated. If you're only gonna bit*ch about things and yet not be willing to stand your ground on what is wrong then you become part of the problem and not a solution. Nothing gets changed unless you do your part in helping to correct it. Plus the fact, all departments/companies have bad and good in them. If you keep silent in reporting the bad apples and just continue to bi*ch then you are tarnishing the whole department/company and you are doing an injustice to the good employees. I don't think that is so hard to understand. I am just the opposite of you. I am a fighter and I really have a hard time understanding when one has a legitimate complaint why they don't care enough to take that complaint to the right people. If something happen to me, as in your case, I definitely would care enough to fight it to prevent it from happening to someone else. That's my standard and if you meet it is entirely up to you. I could care less if you do, but if not, then the bi*ching part falls on deaf ears. I still don't know who you are.
