This sort of thing would only happen in NYC. Where else would anyone have the nerve to steal a rabbit out of a store window?
Stolen bunny returned in fish tank filled with Apple Jacks
A rabbit named Miss Cooper is a famous SoHo mascot, who is often seen calmly munching grass in the window of fashion boutique Alexander Berardi. So, the neighborhood was unsurprisingly aghast last week when Miss Cooper was bunny-napped by a pair of rabbit-stealers; no less an investigative icon than Carl Bernstein, whose wife is a customer at the store, dubbed the affair Bunnygate. All involved were relieved to learn that the bunny was returned to the shop today, after an acquaintance of the thieves threatened to go to authorities. Notably, Miss Cooper was transported in "a fish tank filled with Apple Jacks cereal," which Gawker describes as "the plushest of bunny lodgings." Berardi says: "We're just happy to have her back."
My only comment would be that they must have been out of fruity Trix cereal, but then again "Silly rabbit, Trix are for kids."
At least the bunny is back where it belongs before Easter.
