In the mist of all this most disturbing talks of layoffs and the budget, tonight we all were given a little time and reason to celebrate. Congrats to the UPD's Adult Hockey League for their amazing game tonight against Don's Roc with a huge win 13-2 sending the UPD to the League's Championship game next Sunday. What an amazing game with plenty of awesome plays. I am so proud of all our players but just a little more so of player #2, my son Anthony. WTG UPD!!!! Keep it going and bring home that Championship again. ;D ps: Just in case anyone wonders. The UPD players all play on their time off, pay for their own ice time, their equipment, their UPD jerseys and bring pride to Utica in their wins and many titles.

Where do the UPD play their game? I would love to watch. Is it ever advertised in the Utica OD? I always enjoyed watching hockey when my nephews played. They were in high school hockey when at Proctor. Mike played at MVCC.

They were in high school hockey when at Proctor. Mike played at MVCC. Alan, the Adult Leagues play at the Whitestown Rec Center on Westmoreland Road every Sunday during the season. This Sunday at 7:00pm is their last game and for the League's Championship. I'll let you know what happens for sure. The UPD is again in first place all season and they're looking mighty good for winning the Championship again. I just hope their regular goalie can play his week. He is awesome and much credit goes to him for most of all their wins. My son, Anthony, who is a defenseman on the UPD's team also played for MVCC in the school's first two years of having a team. In the second year MVCC took the State Championship. They had the pick of the crop the first two years, including my son, and in a fantastic coach, John Sheraton. My son Anthony was planning on attending Binghamton for college because they did have a hockey program but when MVCC stated they were going to institute a team Anthony changed his mine and attended MVCC instead. Anthony graduated with high honors in Criminal Justice and went down in the history of the school as a player in MVCC's first and only State College Hockey Championship. I'll bet my life MVCC will never see another state title again. They haven't since 1986. ;D
