Maybe I missed the commercial? That or they decided New York was not an important enough state to air it.

The article says they planned to air the commercial in 24 states. It's not that NY is unimportant. It's just solidly in Clinton's camp. The money would be wasted and NY is one of the most expensive advertising markets of them all.

That's what I meant by unimportant. I just could not articulate it. I was still high on the Giants winning the Super Bowl. I'm still psyched about the win, but I can think coherently again.
