Breyer keeps up Bush speech attendanceWhile interesting that one of the most liberal justices on the bench has attended every state of the union address the president has given, I find it odd that they decided to lump in a story about a bathroom conversation at the bottom. Though I share Scalia's sentiments about the speech, it's become more of a political campaign stomping ground than anything else.

That was a fun read, thanks swimmy.
Though I find his view on the role of the court is distorted, Breyer shows a lot of respect through his attendance record and I respect him for that.

If we could "recall" supreme court justices, he'd be first on my list. Of course though, Scalia, Roberts, Thomas, and Alito would be the first for the rest of the country.

It's like everything else. It seems our country today is almost perfectly evenly divided on just about every issue. Polarizers are champions, moderates are derided.

If that were true, Justice Kennedy would be repulsed and Scalia praised.

Well, my thesis applies better to elected officials and it's not a perfect match for judges, although Scalia is praised by the right, Ginsberg by the left.
As far as moderates, McCain is hated by conservatives. Meanwhile, Hillary has moved to the center and the left has dropped her in favor of Obama who is left of Lenin.

Very true. And I was most upset to see that hillary is still very much in the hunt for the whitehouse. she's a flip flopper like kerry, just better at hiding it.
