Economy, war key issues as N.Y. primaries nearIf I was a democrat, I'd vote for Edwards all the way. Since I'm Republican, I'm not sure who to vote for. Los jibaros's pick, Ron Paul, has a convincing platform. McCain seems like a good goto guy too. I could always side with Chuck Norris and support Huckabee, if I were a Baptist. But all joking aside, I think I'm torn between McCain, Paul, and Romney, though I'm not overly impressed with any of them. What do you guys have to say?

Trust ME just this once, haha. Vote for McCain to get us through the world strife and lead us to a successful exit from Iraq. If we don't we will be back there in a short time, quelling a civil war and genocide.'
McCain is not the strongest on the economy, but he has an understanding of the problem and the president should always pick a cabinet to strengthen his weak points. the president does not have to be strong on all points or perfect.
I might point out that none of the other candidates are strong on ALL points either, and a tough stand on securing our borders and fighting terrorism are the most important issues to face not only the US, but the world.
I am not prejudiced toward Mexicans in general, just against the illegals, and those that seem to think that this country should move it's capital to the south side of the Rio Grande, and make spanish the universal language spoken here in the USA.
Economic issues can be addressed also. The president doesn't have to guide congress to a solution, all he has to do is agree with it and allow it's passage. I think sometimes we forget that although the president is the highest office held, it does not run the country single handedly, although Bush has tried.

What are the odds of McCain living for a full term? I can't vote for him unless I know who his VP is going to be.
I agree with your assessment that none of the candidates are strong on all points. I think Ron Paul will pick a better cabinet than McCain would too. For that matter, Romney has demonstrated how he picks good people then gets them to turn companies (and a state) around. Reagan was good at doing that too, despite the criticism that he didn't manage them closely enough. I think George W. Bush, if he has a weakness, it is having too much loyalty to his close associates and an unwillingness to bring new people into the inner-circle. I think McCain is prone to that too.
