Great shots. And yes, they ruined McSorley's (as the two photos show) when they painted the trim and sign green with shamrocks. McSorley's and many of the the other buildings didn't look much different when I got to the city 22 years later in 1963. Almost fifty years ago. I always ... even into the this new century ... found New York City in many respects changeless over the years, even the style of business attire to some extent. Men in expensive double breasted pin stripe suits on Park and Madison Ave's were just as evident the last time I visited as when I worked there (and couldn't afford such fine suits) in 1963.
