Now that we are 20 strong, and surely awaiting the additions of Thelma and others, I implore all of you to start recruiting. Send the link to friends and family and encourage them to join.
The more the merrier. Word of mouth is always the most effective form of advertising.
Thanks to Clippers foresight, Ralph and Kims hard work and determination, Swimmy's supreme moderation skills and the wit, intellect, support, and opinions of many others we finally have a place to discuss all the things we've always wanted to talk about in a fun, creative, and less restrictive way.
While I have no doubt that the 20 here can more than carry a board (we did for the past year on the "Other site") it makes the discussion more rich, entertaining, and rewarding having more varying points of view.
For each person you recruit I'll boost your Karma by 1 point.
Let the Games begin!

If I tell anyone, they'll probably form a petition to have this site shut down. lol.
But I'll send anyone I know this way. My days of even reading the disgrace forums are over.

I'll ask a similar question to the one I asked elsewhere: when we send the link to our friends to invite them to come here, what do we tell them they can expect find?
I observe this forum was created as an alternative to that other forum. Is that what we tell them? Do we say it's better than that? What is this place?
(maybe this discussion needs its own topic?)

This place is the Beetle's magical Mystery tour ....that' what you tell them.....
If they are younger than 23 you tell them we're over here 'ballin'!!!!!!"
Well, if you send the link you can attach a disclaimer that it's a great place to talk about anything and everything that is going on in their lives. A great way to educate themselves about the area and an excellent place to meet some interesting people who will surely change their perspectives of the world around them.
Or you could just tell them to find out for themselves.
I guess on some level they probably, need to enjoy writting and sharing thoughts, ideas and opinions.
you only say it's better if you think it's better. This isn't an alternative to the OD, it's the evolution of an old, archaic forum, that was on the precipous of going extinct.

I've linked to it on my blog. That might be good for a hit or two.

I had lost interest in the OD forum, and didn't even go there when I read the news from the OD homepage this morning.
I just jumped over there and clicked into the forums, and there is very little activity. I mean, like the "viewpoints section has one new thread from "moderator" and no replies, and the news section has only 5 or so posts. Hmmm! I guess our fantastic growth has caused a mass exodus. I feel sad for the degradation of the OD forum, but very happy that we have all reconvened here on this forum with more freedom and lots of fun fellowship and banter.
