I will second that. She's a nice lady with common sense and a concern for the tax payers. But the number one reason to vote for her is she is not affiliated with either of the other two slates. I like the idea of someone being independent.
Many times in politics, there is a neccessity to trash the status quo and start anew. Breaking up any patronage laden fiefdoms is a good thing, and should be embraced every few years as a rule. It is like shopping for car insurance. A political covey starts to suffer from patronage and degradation after a time, and needs refreshing or replacing. They recommmend that you shop for car insurance every few years, and the same is true in politics. A clean slate can be a wonderful thing!
When an incumbent is a popular and effective leader, they will be safe from assault. When there is any doubt in the minds of the citizens and voters as to the true agenda of a leader, it is time to purge the system and start over again.
