www.uticaod.com/features/x1722639556/Disease-hasn-t-slowed-local-drag-racer-AversaI also posted this under the Utica local area portion of the forum. I was unaware of Dick's battle with MD. Very sad to me, as I remember him as the young and vibrant teen that I knew back in the 50's at Seymour School in N Utica. I actually remember his brother Sal better than Dick. I wish him all the best, and I know that we all will keep him in our prayers here at the forum. He is not only well known at the drag strip as a locally famous drag racer, he was also a well known musician and bass player in his younger years, and played with Carl and the Dominoes, as well as Joey and the Drifters. He also played with my friend Dick Bowen at one time. Dick, I am sorry for your medical issues and your declining health. You are in my prayers for sure. I hope you will be able to attend the band reunion at the beach in August. I am sure the musicians from the 50's and 60's would love to see ya and to sit and reminisce with ya.

My prayers are with Dick in his battle with his disease but I applaud him on his inspiring strength and attitude in doing such. That's half the battle, Dick. My best wishes goes out to you and yours.

You are right about that Bobbbiez. The article makes it quite evident that Dick is not lacking in determination and strength. I just wish him well.
