Larry it looks like you are getting some competition for Utica political young gun ;D www.uticauprising.com/I never heard of Joe Marino until now. By the way, I have been a reader of the "Utica Rising" Blog since it stated recently and it has been consistently better then any so called blog on the OD.

hahaha. That's OK with me. I don't want to be a young gun, I just want to make this a better city. We have so much potential if only we could get some people willing to take out the garbage and disband the culture that's put us in this mess. Unfortunately, Utica elections usually come down to popularity contests and who has a bigger family. So frustrating. And if you dare try changing anything, they'll throw everything they have at you and you'll forever be cast out as a fringe candidate. I still hold onto hope though.
As for Marino, he's exactly the kind of person we need. I grew up with Joe and we were like best friends through high school. I used to sleep at his house all the time. Great guy with a great family. He's running a class act campaign, too. I almost wish he was running for mayor. He's an accountant and his wife is a school teacher. They have the most adorable little twin boys and another one on the way. I wish him the best of luck.
The blog is doing good. I told him to take down the header that was up earlier. He had someone design a new one and it looked stupid. I put the new one up. I like simple. For the record, if you like it that much, keep in mind that he steals most of his info from me. LOL. I'll start blogging again once the campaign is over.

Glad to hear that you can provide a good recommendation for Joe Marino. I thought that it was likely that you knew him. Please pass on the "Utica Uprising" blog owner that he is doing a good job. He has provided a better analysis of the upcoming Utica election then the OD. In fact, the paper would be much improved if they had outsourced their so called blogs to Utica Uprising, Faultlines and New Hartford. Bryon Ackerman, they guy who's supposed to be covering New Hartford, is stuck breathlessly blogging the latest on hydrofracking.
