I could make a totally inappropriate comment here - but, for once in my life, I'll resist!

That was quick!! Is he going into real estate, Beth?? He is in real estate - he's a commercial developer - it's just an incredibly busy time, and it became impossible to balance the two.

I all reality, he is probably better off detaching himself from Utica politics while his integrity and reputation are still in tact. Few people can wade through that quagmire and emerge untainted with their good name totally intact.
If he is honest and successful in attaining the goals of one party, the other party will be working overtime to besmirch his reputation. It's a no- win situation. He is too good of a man to be swallowed up by the machine. I wish him all the best.
Oh, and PS, please go ahead and make the inappropriate comment. We all could use a little shock value or humor, either one, to wake us up a little, haha.

Time is a resource that cannot be renewed once it has been expended. Family ALWAYS has to come first, or at least hold equal footing with work. A young family needs to spend time together. Money and success are nothing if a marriage fails due to the absence of one party or the other. On the other hand, if Randy is working and on the move constantly, he doesn't have to worry about parking his shoes long enough for the puppies to use them as a side dish to accompany the Birkenstocks, lol. I was lucky growing up. My dad was home EVERY night. He was not one to be out with the boys or to be working overtime very often. I was a teen before he began taking night classes to get his engineering degree. Having dads around in the evening and at bedtime is something for which there is no substitute. He was always there to help with homework, play a board game, and to tuck us in and shut the light off at bedtime. I am glad Randy is going to be home with you and the kids more.

I thought a UED was something for birth control. I think that was IUD actually. Soggs probably jumped from a sinking ship. Most likely a smart move on his part.
