oKAY TECHIES...does anyone know how I can get the addresses (url's) that I use to see in my address bar in the drop down menu. I checked my tools and other options and just not sure what to look for anymore. When IE updated to 8 did they do something to the add on's.

Chris, I seldom use IE, but have a copy for when a website (like my bank) requires IE. What are you trying to do? Copy and paste the URL? SEND it? WHICH drop down menu did you used to see it in?

No I no longer have a history kept when I click on the drop down arrow at the end of my address bar. It used to save me time when I wanted to go back to a website and just select the adddress. Now the only thing that shows in there is the current site and when I click on the arrow it is blank with no history of pervious sites I went to . I checked the auto complete in the tool options and it is there is a check mark next to it but this does not solve the problem...I think all this does is finish what I was about to start to type.

Go to Tools, click on Internet Options, then choose the General tab and see "Browsing History." First, check or uncheck if you want to "Delete Browsing History on Exit." Then press the "Settings" button and on that panel under "History," make sure there's a number in the box labeled "Days to keep history." If the number is zero, history is turned off. Also, as long as you're on that page, the "check for new page" default should be "automatic."

True. It finishes what it thinks you're going to type, based on past entries.

I think I fixed it as they are now showing. (did it yesterday and already can't remember what I clicked on but think it was in Tools>Options>Browsing History and think I had it on delete upon exit. Unchecked the box I think) Anyway it is now back to normal. Thanks for your help. Box is checked for automatic for webpages and I see you posted the same instructions. You the man ;D
