I love the smell of roses and of lilacs; both Rochester festivals, though I only knew about the Lilac Festival. Our wild roses and climbing roses are all in bloom at home right now and we can smell roses everywhere! It's absolutely like a movie! Go, enjoy and please post some pictures!

Beautiful! Thanks for posting these, Chris! I love the red and white roses; never saw anything like it before! I'm not sure why but the rose seems to be the perfect flower...

Thank you virgilgal. The sun was so bright and my camera screen macro wasn't cooperating so a lot of the flowers were a bit out of focus (like the red one) Plus I was in a hurry just pointing and shooting instead of taking my time with the shot.
Yes it was nice walking through the gardens and smelling "roses".
(if you click on any of the photos it actually brings you to my album where they reside)

Nice; I enjoyed them all. I really liked the peach and yellow ones too. These are much better shots than I can get with my Fuji; don't have macro. And I've always loved taking photos of flowers. It made me enjoy these even more!

Very nice pictures, Chris. Our roses here at the new house are simply gorgeous. They were here when we bought the house. Just cleaned up the flowers beds and I can't believe all the beautiful roses we have. We also have a flowering vine that is in full bloom and is awesome. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and put it on my facebook page for you to see. I know how to do that.

Booobiez...thanks for the posting on FB.(and in the rain besides) I love Clematis and that particular color is my favorite. They are a hearty plant and will come up every year ..they just don't like getting their feet wet.
virgilgal.....I shot with a SamsungSL202 ..before that I owned a Fugi A210 but it was only a 3.2 pixel this one is 10. I am ready for a newer one (almost) maybe a Digital SLR. But it takes good photos most of the time for a little pocket camera. I actually liked my Fugi but when I went to upgrade I was not happy with many of the shots and so returned it and wound up with the Samsung. I just enjoy taking pictures.

We had a beautiful clematis climbing a trellis on the front of our shed when we lived in N Utica. No clematis here. Lots of morning glories. They grow wild here, and are a pesky nuisance in many cases. We have beautiful purple morning glories climbing the lattice on our back porch, but we also have some growing all up through and around the side door of our garage, and that is a pain in the butt. The more I rip it down or weedwhack it, the faster it seems to grow. lol
The damn stuff will grow right through the smallest gap in the door jamb and appear inside the garage. Like the monster that devoured Chicago, lol.

One year I thought I bought a potato plant for my patio and I got this lovely surprise. I liked them cause they attached themselves to the railings and simply looked beautiful. They died off at night and every morning I had a new bloom peeping out at me.

Are those morning glories. They are beautiful. Careful, though, there seeds can make you high.
I love rose's. I used to have a fantastic rose garden that my landlady so graciously let me plant in the backyard. At least 25 bush's. I miss that.
I planted a rather nice rose bush last year where I live but some scumbag pulled it up and threw it across the street.

So Sorry , Alan. Why someone would do something like that is beyond me.
The first house we lived in (when we mved to Rachacha) had a row of rosebushes down the one side. (a beautiful live fence) The 2nd house had a nice bunch of rose bushes too. The last house my mom lived in had a beautiful hydrangea bush..no roses. Rochester is named the flour city. That no longer applies but now it should be flower city as we have flowers all over no matter where you go or where you look.
