I am going to bet that the driver had dope on his person, in the car, a weapon, was wanted on warrants, or was unlicensed or uninsured. It takes a real disregard for human life to strike a child and not stop to see if they are alright. What a scumbag. Probably typical for the lower East end in recent times though. It is discouraging. How does one take back the city from this kind of disgusting trash? For those of us that love the city and have walked the streets back when the houses were ALL well kept, and the neighborhoods were ALL safe to walk through, it leaves us with a heavy heart, as we watch our old home town go down farther each day.

I agree. I don't do any walking around my place in the evening or early morning or Sat. or Sunday. And I do not think we can ever take the city back. If the police can't do it then it is useless. Even Mayor's try but useless. The majority of people do not care anymore. I am also thinking of changing my barber. He is nice guy from Bosnia with a busy shop on lower Mohawk St. Last time I went he was complaining about the apartment complex next door. The old landlord sold the place and some scumball from NYC owns it know and rents to Sec 8 people. I know all Sec 8 paople are not bad but the place seems to attrack the wrong element. They throw stuff out the window's, insult people wanting to get into the barber's business. Last time I went one idiot kid yelled out from a window " Hey old man we gonna grab your wallet" and then started yelling at me. I was scared. I just recently went to a new barber shop. It is Spanish owned, nice younger crowd and they all do look like gangster's, lol. I entered the door and asked" Do you cut old peoples' hair. They laughed and one of the barber's said, sure sit down. An hour and a half wait and I was afraid I would end up with one of these new gangster haircut's or something etched into my hair. The language was a bit rough and I guess there are only a couple swear words that can only be used in English. And I swear that given time for a gene mutation to take effect I think all children will be born with necks and heads tilted down and to the side to make it available for automatic cell phone usage. Nobody looks up anymore!!!! |
