Froggy,
I'd give him the benefit of the doubt before you accuse him of cronyism. Its too early to assume anything underhanded. If it does come out that there are any shenanigans associated with the awarding of contracts, then its time to start questioning his motives. I was under the impression that the city was subject to open bidding laws for a project of that size...am I wrong about that?

Benefit of the doubt? How about this. One of his top staff members lives in New Hartford. What about the residency requirement? This staffer is supposed to be buying rental property in Utica to use as a cover address.

Actually, he says they did interview him about it and many other topics in December. That was before he instituted his nephew as a filter.
He was quick to point out in his spot on the radio that the OD has been releasing bits and drabs of that interview ever since he took office, using things as the timing fits but with a spin he never anticipated. Welcome to the big leagues.
I reposted my question above on the OD site, mainly because I was curious if the moderators are still reading their forum or just responding to complaints. I got the answer in just a few hours -- they are.
