You got that right, BZ. I've been a loyal fan for a long time. Like Clip and I, we often disagree on national social issues, but he's a brilliant and spot on with the "Greater Utica Area". A little secret here... On issues facing the county (that weren't directly affecting Utica) I would usually turn to his blog for guidance. Many of my votes were based on his research and opinions. If it were up to Strike (and me), we would still have our water board, or at least have some accountability there. We wouldn't have lost Utica's identity, while Rome has built theirs. Take notice that everything in Utica has changed its name to "Mohawk Valey" (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross, Water Authority, etc.), yet Rome still has a Rome Chamber, Rome Area Red Cross, etc. Every other metro area I've lived in, or been to, takes advantage of the name of the hub city. This isn't anti-regionalization or consolidation, but rather a basic marketing rule (and pride). We have a brand already in the name "Utica", yet the "leaders" around here are hell bent on totally eliminating any reference to Utica. I say Strikeslip for County Executive!!!!

Lips are sealed. No need to know what his name is. All one needs to know is he and his family members truly love Utica and have proven that in the past working behind the scenes. In all he and his family have done for Utica gives him no personal gain. I can personally vouch for that. I have nick-named him Utica's guardian angel who will always watch out for and bring out the under-handed dealings some of our politicians try to push through. That's good enough for me. ;D

Strikeslip is very informative and what he writes you can believe to be the truth. I have total respect for him. He brings out the truth and before he speaks investigates all avenues. Guess that runs in his family. Just wish he would seek a political office. There would be no doubt he would get my vote and I would work my a** off for him. We need people like him in government to get us back on our feet and get rid of the useless bodies doing nothing for us. AMEN!

People seem to change a great deal when elected to certain positions and basically forgetting their promises, commitment and where they came from. Not saying this is the case here but hope that if this person is thinking of running for a position I hope he stays the same person he is now.

This person will probably never run for office. He's like me, who has been asked three times by my party to run for certain positions, and I begged off respectfully knowing I can do more damage on my own without kissing the party's a**. ;D If a miracle took place and he did decide to throw his hat in, I'm sure he would follow in his Dad's footsteps and take no shit from anyone to do right by the taxpayer. Not gonna happen though, so no use in wishing.

I was just curious. I have followed his blog for sometime now (think sunflower). Have seen his photos on flickr and webshots and emailed him once but he never answered (about his bike). Always seemed so mysterious.
