Has anyone else had this problem? I'm a new user to this board and when I click on a thread, I get a "Page Not Found" window with clipper220.proboards.com/undefined as the address. Thanks for any feedback!

Yes, the problem is the code used on this forum to advance a reader to the last post he viewed in a thread. It's a very convenient function added by the forum's technical guy, but it causes the problem you're having. We have found no solution except to use the Firefox browser, which doesn't experience the problem and is fine for most of us since we like it . Chrome and Safari and Opera get the "undefined Page" message. I'm not sure about IExplorer since I never use it.
There are a couple of workarounds. When I'm using Opera, my favorite work around is to check WHO posted last in a thread, which can be seen on the thread list page. Click on that person's name and click on their last post and it will bring you to the thread. Klutzy, but it works.
By the way, Welcome to the forum. Join in the fun! Dave

That problem doesn't occur with IE either Dave, although I seldom use IE. Firefox is so much better, more versatile and easy to use. Have you upgraded to firefox 4 yet? I have been waiting for you or Ralph to try it out before I download it and upgrade. haha.

Thank you for the quick reply! I'm a Mac user and I only have the problem on my PowerBook Pro which runs OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) and Safari 5.0.5(?). No problems at all on my (older) G4 desktop which runs OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 3.x.x. I'll try Firefox, and thanks for the tip.
What a joy to read posts written with complete sentences!

What a joy to read posts written with complete sentences! And we even try to spell correctly here! Hahahahaha! I think you'll like Firefox. I know other Mac users who do. Clip, I upgraded to FF 4 and then went back to 3.5 when I found a number of key add-ons had not yet migrated or updated their code. I can't live without FireFTP (for my website) and a few others extras that were not working yet on FF 4. I'll give it a try again in the future. BTW, from a function point of view, I do prefer Firefox, but I did not notice FF 4 was significantly faster than older versions and it is still a slow browser. That's why I often run Chrome simultaneously. Chrome is indeed fast. I still like Safari for Windows, too, but haven't fired it up in a while.

Welcome to the board....I think the reason for full sentences is we are showing our age (ooouch) The young set type thinking they are text messaging. On a forum I also like to see words and sentences spelled out.

Hi TC, Mostly full sentences but sometimes we hide our poopy mouths behind shortcuts. Good to have you here, hope you enjoy the banter, humor and seriousness of this truly diverse yet civil forum. Ive been here for only a short time yet feel very at home. I think you will find a consistent lack of grenade tossers, viciousness and animosity on Clippers. Don't be surprised to find an occasional spat every here and there, (no different than home)!

timecapsule, I know that Dave is occasionally adverse to shameless self promotion, but if you truly enjoy grammatical constructs (and who doesn’t), you may also want to visit the forum at www.morestories.proboards.com/ where you may sight a living example of a compound-complex sentence complete with parenthetical expressions and then for further enjoyment, you should continue to the Mother Ship at www.windsweptpress.com/morstor.htm. I thought Chrome had fixed the "undefined page" problem but the latest update seems to have broken it again.

Hahahaha! Only occasionally have I lost the habit of self-promotion. A writer's conceit, I must admit. (How else would one get an audience?) But yes, timecapsule, you're welcome to visit and join in. And my defacto Patron Saint is of course, Brother Jesse, the Monk In The Cellar, at monkinthecellar.blogspot.comOh, and taking the period off the end of the sentence so the link works, More Stories (The Mother Ship) is at: www.windsweptpress.com/morstor.htm
