Maybe in this case you don't have to EARN the buffet by gambling, and it is a case of walking in and going to the buffet, with the HOPE that you will stay and gamble. Kathy and I have never been there. Is it as much fun as Turning Stone, and do they pay off on their machines?

You will end up paying for your free din-din and more. ;D I don't care for the place because they don't have all the machines (games) that the Turning Stone has. Can't tell you honestly about their pay offs cause I usually lose at both places.

Corner, I only ate there twice, but what I did have was very good. You won't go wrong on eating there.

The last time I was at Vernon Downs was back in the 80's when I used to drive the Vernon Downs bus out of Syracuse on my nights off from the base Fire Department. Back then the people with a few bucks ate the buffet or dinner in clubhouse restaurant, and the rest of us ate really good hot dogs and soft pretzels down on the blacktop under the grandstand, haha.
