The game is starting soon. Maybe I'll find some citations later. But I'm gonna take a wild guess that a city's authority to issue or revoke certificates of occupancy in the interests of the community at large has been well tested.
The boarding up part was my interpretation. I'm certain the owner has the right to access to the property for purposes of maintaining, repairing and correcting deficiencies, but no one can live there without a certificate of occupancy.

And yes, due process, including a hearing, precedes the revocation.

LOL!!! One of my best friends on the force used to say that gun control was all about teaching them to use two hands!!!

OK OK enough about the housing issue when they are evicted!!! They obviously go to their "peeps" crib and crash there. I want to about about a more serious issue.
Gun Control and Shooting Fundamentals
AIM......BREATHE.......SQUEEZE
and you can't expect to hit your target when you have your gat tilted at a 90 degree angle sideways unless you cock your head sideways to use the sights. If more people would slow down and follow these simple rules maybe these scumbags would kill each other off. That seems to be da way of da hood.

According to the OD this morning, this property on Miller Street is owned by James and Cecelia Hawkins who live in Florida. Since 2006, this property has had several incidents that occurred that needed police interventionl Currently, this property has 8 Codes Violation.
Just another typical absentee landlord example! How can you possibly know what is going on in your rental property when you live so many States away from your property?
I hope this Nuisance Ordinance is applied in this case as it certainly applies.

Based on what we wittness in Rome, it appears Utica is far less aggressive in enforcing their nuisance law. By the 2nd police report in a year, Rome holds a hearing to get the process rolling. I can't remember an exception since the ordinance was passed. And I know the Sentinel checks when they write about police being called to an address. It's common to see them include the landlord's name and address in the story and whether or not police had been called there before.
