The disgrace has failed to post the article, so no link. Thank you to their illustrious "moderators," Corner, kick Fran's ass for me.
Really, then why, since the onslaught of the project's inception, has it been widely admitted by NYRI that downstate costs will decrease by 34% while upstate (north of Rockland county) will see a 26% increase? I may have my percentages off, but the bottom line is that this line has been advertised as increasing upstate's energy costs while significantly decreasing energy costs downstate. Why the sudden change?
If that is the case, then why did the NYRI attorney, in a public meeting held in the New Hartford High School Auditorium in 2005, say that if the State PSC would not approve their project they had an application ready to be sent to the U.S. DOE after they designate NY in a "power corridor"? Just a harmless threat? Or did someone forget to share the memo keeping that information secret to the attorney?
Something screwy is going on here, and I can't remember that anti-NYRI group's website to consult their opinion on it.

Swimmy, if you use the Clintonian method of parsing that statement, it means that at this very moment, Monica Lewinski is NOT down here under the podium servicing ... er ... I mean they are committed to the NY regulatory process up until the moment the application is denied. At that point, they'll apply to US DOE.
Did you forget what the meaning of is is?

Of course! How could I have made such an elementary mistake?!

Exactly. The use of throw-away language in our public discourse continues to grow.
