Hello everyone,
Thanks again for your warm welcomes! This is a great site and you guys and gals make it that way. Hope I haven't been overzealous in my postings, had to get by that "French Fry" thing!
Anyone have any thoughts on the usefulness of a Technical Forum on here? I don't do computers, but obviously, lots of you do, I work outside of the Box. Almost anything that goes in or comes out, I control, emulate, multiply and add the style. You can help me through my Compu-glitches, I know you can, maybe I can help with your Multi Media troubles and woes!
Ive Been an AV Service Tech, Commercial, Residential and Educational Institution Multimedia Systems Designer and Installer for over 25 years and have a pretty solid background in most things Electro-Mechanical, why they work and why they don't.
That way I will have something to over-post about that I know something about! ;D ;D
Thoughts? JR

Well JR, this seems to be the section of the board where all those questions get asked, just never gave the name much thought.
I don't know just how much traffic we would get by starting another section, but if any questions come up here that you can answer feel free to jump right in.
I know I will keep your field of expertise in mind if I have one in that vein come up.

Hmmm. Interesting point Ralph. I just created an area below the "steam room" for tech questions and discussion. Let's see what evolves. Sorry about that. Is there any problem with having both sections available?

Makes no difference to me Clip. Sometimes better to separate the topics and see what happens. Easy peasy lemon squeasy.

Perfect, I don't know if it will catch an awful lot of traffic but the Tech Toys that are being thrust on us can be very frustrating and underwhelming if your not sure what to do with them.
Branding is also a big problem, all are not created equal. I have dealt with all of them and their little changes in life (Godstar to LG, from junk to garbage in one quick move)! Hard to convince people that they should pay the extra 20% for a tier 1 product instead of getting a "Lasourda" without a real warranty.
Like I said, I'm Not A Computer Guru, never have been, never will be. I use one as a Control System Programming tool, Spreadsheets, Docs and Internet but as far as fixing them, thats not my forte.
Hope that I can stir up a little Tech Talk! Thanks for a great forum! JR
