I know the border regulations are more of a national topic, but the article interviews local businesses and how they view the changes. So I figured I would put it here.

Border rules get positive reviews

Canadians still will come shopping at stores in the United States, despite any new regulations, said Paul Ziegler, president of the Oneida County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“Those people get their passports because they can get better bargains,” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to affect us at all.”

He's right, with their Canadian Dollar being more valuable than the USD for the first time I can remember, they will be receiving much better bargains here in the states.

When my Grandson played Hockey all during his school years, his Dad use to always buy his skates and hockey equipment in Canada (they lived in Vermont). That was in the days when the dollar bill was much more valuable than the Canadian dollar.

He has now graduated and works full time. He buys his own equipment now on the private hockey team he is on.
