With Chris gone, she can easily live in Albany and spend all her time there in a full time job.

They're all coming out of the woodwork now: Morehouse says he'll run for her seat, Roefaro says he might.

Tim Julian says he might; That guy that lost the last election to Destito says he will. Oh, Lord...

One of the things I notice is that little or no mention is made of Mrs Destito's qualifications for the job. Like some management or executive experience in property leasing, construction or purchasing. I realize that she married into a family restaurant & hotel business. However, she has maintained over the years that there was no conflict of interest in her late husband's dealings with the OIN because sher was not involved with the business.
Why do we have any expection that she could effectively manage a large organization?

I am sure she is Stoney. Politics doesn't require a person to be "QUALIFIED" for a position. Just of the correct party affiliation and willing to do the bidding of the one you end up indebted to.

This is a sure sign that the district is about to go thru some serious re-drawing. Love her or hate her, she delivered for her district. This will be a loss.

I have been favorably impressed with Gov. Cuomo so far. This would seem like a portion of state government where savings could be made. A position where we could use a hard nosed business manager. Instead we get someone appointed for her political connections rather than for management skills.
It may be a loss for her district but it is also a loss for the state.

Maybe Roefaro will get her job. But then who could run for Mayor of Utica---I say Paterson, the guy who sued the city and won.

Not expected to plot the course, but there as an observer for the politburo.

but Paterson will never ever be mayor of Utica. No way Jose. "No way Jose" is a definite! ;D Alan, just because one wins a case doesn't necessarily say they are model citizens. I sure as hell wouldn't want Patterson as my neighbor, never mind as my Mayor.

Most of these cases with the city are just settled, as that's cheaper than fighting them with taxpayer money. They are not really "won". The plaintiff is never proven to be in the right. That's why many start off suing for millions but end up settling for a pittance.
But in Patterson's case, he did get quite a bit, didn't he?
