It's about time that the City started enforcing laws on the books in regards to clearing sidewalks of snow. Twice in the past week I've almost hit pedestrians on N. Genesee St. who are forced to walk on the road because sidewalks up there are clogged. I'm talking both sides of this road in front of all the fast food joints like Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, McD's, Hess, etc., etc. This conditioon exists from the Broad St. ramp all the way to Herkimer Rd. This is a dangerous condition & somebody is going to get killed up there especially at dusk when visibilty is poor. Are you listening Mr. Mayor & where is your Codes Dept?

If you think that is bad the pawn shop, Cash Corner, on the corner of Genny and Bleecker St is a mess. Just a path to walk on about seven inches wide with ice underneath. The owner refuses to clean his sidewalks of both sides of his business. People are forced to walk in the street and no one cares.

I haven't been in the downtown or N. Genny areas for a bit, but it's an area wide problem. I've had a couple close encounters of a bad kind myself, slippery roads, limited visibility with cars & pedestrians trying to occupy the same space.
Downtown has an additional problem with sidewalks running right to the curb, no place to put the snow. Building owners shovel or blow it into the street, the next pass of the plow puts it back on the sidewalk. Didn't the city buy a special machine that was supposed to blow the snow directly into dump trucks & then offer it for sale on Ebay?
It's possible I'm remembering it wrong. There are days when I really miss my memory.

they are supposed to box all that snow up and send it to Jamaica and Florida when BZ and Kit go down there just so they doesn't get homesick.

As I re-read my last post, there is possible confusion concerning the antecedent of the pronoun "it." I meant they offered the machine on Ebay not the snow.
If Utica could sell the snow on Ebay to Jamaica that would be an exceptional marketing job.

Haha. I didn't misread your comments Clarence, but that is rather humorous. Selling snow on ebay. Great idea if you can suck someone into buying it with the idea in mind of reselling it to the Jamaican Bobsled team to supply their practice course.

What a great story that was about the Jamaican bobsled team. Really showed the hearts of all Jamaica but I'm sure they'll pass on my gift of snow. ;D
