You guys would know better than me as I'm only in the area 3 or 4 weeks a year now, but is the intersection near JK really that big of a problem? I've never had trouble there. Of course, I never had trouble on Middlesettlement Road, either, and they changed that all around. www.uticaod.com/homepage/x469086619Come to think of it, I don't know of any road/intersection up there that I can say is really bad. Of course, I live in an area now that is truly a bit of a mess when it comes to roads, and I'm used to that. At one point we have 'Death Valley' which is very scary the first few times you drive on it! Check that out here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Valley_%28North_Carolina%29

No, I don't think it's that big of a problem. I've seen issues when someone is trying to turn left onto Seneca Turnpike from Commercial Drive and there is someone going straight out of Jay K's parking lot. Ususally the person turning left cuts the person going straight off. But, I can't beleive Jay K is going to be around too much longer. Then there won't be a problem at all. Now that there is 840 and they made Commercial Drive 3 lanes until you get to the mall, I think the traffic has improved a lot. It wasn't even as bad this past Christmas as it has usually been.

I agree with countrygal. The only problems I have ever seen are trying to turn left off of commercial drive or turning out of First Source. Traffic just bottlenecks at that intersection. And gone are the days of common courtesy. I tried pulling out the other day and this one car sped up to keep me from pulling out when there was a red light. The person behind the jackass was kind enough to let me out so I didn't have to wait for the line of traffic to clear.

I pass throught that intersection (2 intersections too close together, actually) several times a day. It gives me plenty of opportunity to grow my beard.

I made an observation to my better half when we were home for Christmas this year. I noted that it would be nice if they redesigned those two intersections into one, vastly improved intersection, such as they designed for Clinton Rd, Genessee St. and the Arterial.
Let's face it, they have "improved" every road leading into the intersections but haven't done anything to make the traffic flow "through" the area.
As far as Jay K going away, I don't think that will happen. They are a cut above the big boxes both in service and in quality. Contractors and people wanting quality merchandise will always shop there instead of Lowes or HD.
