Clipper, In my present state of ignorance, I can claim "plausible deniability" concering the location of the Rubber Ducky. I wouldn't want to lie under oath.
Of course with the right beverages in the cooler, I could claim alcohol induced amnesia. You are free to choose your own beverages, of course. Unfortunately, I can't recommend wading in the creek to cool off.

Clarence, I have been in the south too long, so I would probably bring sweet tea, but I would stop and get ya a small jug, or a 12 pack of your choice. Haha. Gee maybe we could dangle a fishing line in there too. Might catch a "brown trout".
Sadly, that creek always was a trout stream, and probably still sustains a population of trout, although I would not eat any caught in there in the last few years.

Well, all I know is that a 22.1% overall increase in our water bill is just one more reason people are leaving this area faster than a wildebeest migration.

Good point Ralph! That percentage is between a 1/5 and 1/4 increase of the total bill. Depending on whether you are a single, or couple, or if you have a house with several children all drinking and bathing, and a wife doing several loads of laundry a week, it can be a VERY significant factor in the monthly budget.
Combine that with the increased costs of heating a home, and it is a major hardship on most families, and can be critical to those living on a limited or low income.

Well here it is just Betty and I (and the birds/cats).
I can't begin to tell you how much we have tried to cut back on the water and conserve.......we don't even throw the birds water out, it goes to water the plants!
But looking back through my bills for the past year, our water usage has gone down while the bill has gone up.
Go figure.

The same is true for my electric bill and oil tank. Usage down, cost up.
In Rome, we don't even have water meters. Every residential customer pays the same bill. That means I'm subsidizing that family with 4 kids down the street. Grrrr ....
