I'm really not into Nascar racing much. I just try to keep myself informed because my sons are into it and I would like to be able to discuss the sport with them. Sunday, Jimmie Johnson won the Nascar Championship for the fifth year in a row. Something no other driver has done. Making a record is very impressive to me. Like in other sports I do watch, in baseball, I may dislike the Boston Red Soxs but if one of their players is going for a record I'll be the first to watch and route them on. Having a favorite is normal but breaking records or making them is something everyone usually routes for and should be respected. I guess this isn't true with Nascar fans. Since Sunday I've heard many Nascar fans tear Jimmie Johnson up. I am sorry their racer didn't win but I'm also very disappointed that there are so many poor losers. Johnson deserves the praise and respect for making a record in the Nascar sport. He's lead the way for all drivers in the future to reach for a goal and that's to break Johnson record and accomplish another great feat as Jimmie has done this Nascar season. He deserves the respect. WTG JIMMIE! ;D

The whole chase thing has really not done much to raise the enthusiasm of fans as it was meant to do. Lot's of new rules, the new design for the cars, and other changes have made the racing less exciting and bored the fans.
As for Jimmy Johnson, he has an amazing pit crew (most days), he has an amazing engine shop that builds him winning engines, and he is a savvy driver that works the track, trying to stay out of packs of cars, and working his way to the front when the time is right. That allows him to finish in the top five or ten most every race. Jimmy has been the driver I root for ever since Rusty Wallace retired.
Kyle Busch worked his butt off and won lots of races, but simply didn't catch Jimmy in points. When he didn't win, he was far enough back to lose points. His big claim to fame was his double and triple wins late in the season. He is still a sniveling little snot, haha. If anyone deserved to beat Jimmy, it was Denny Hamlin.

Ah, but he didn't. ;D Maybe Hamlin will be the one to break Jimmie's record and if he's ever in that position I'll be the first to route him on. Until then it's Jimmie's day to shine.
