I was not discussing as a point of winning or losing. After reading your post, I realized that in my line of work I see the worst in people and often forget that there is still good in humanity. It has nothing to do with winning or losing this discussion. As an attorney, you learn to make arguments on both sides of a case. It helps you to strengthen your arguments. And, you will have to make the opposing argument some day when you have a client in that position.
I have had many clients who have gone to anger management programs and completed them. But their behavior and attitudes have not improved any. If anything they learned to be more intelligent in how they harass their partners. Though I have only practiced two years, I have seen former clients in court for the same issues I represented them on months prior. Sometimes, the ones I represented who were victims have not become the aggressors. But often the abusive partner is right back to where they were before going to any anger management classes/programs and doing far worse.

Gotta look on the bright side. There are those the programs do work for. Not all are unsuccessful in treating.
