I see where the NFL is cracking down on hard hits which is confusing players. Have to admit, so am I. I understand in any sport a player can be injured but that is part of the game that players realize when entering the sport. There are penalties or suspensions given out for any illegal hits in most sports and that is up to the paid referees to determine. As far as I'm concerned if a player or game gets out of hand then it is the fault of the referee officiating the game and letting too much go till all hell breaks loose. I've seen that in games far too many times.
Instead of unteaching players the rules that they were taught as little boys entering whatever sport, I suggest the NFL make sure the refs they hire know the correct calls to be made and follow the rules as expected. Then and only then will there be less injuries in all sports.
