So here's one for ya. The Whitesboro school district came very close to finally having a contract with its teachers today. The only problem is that the administrators forgot to type out and sign all the contract terms. The lead negotiator for the teaching union said that if it was any other district to go ahead and agree on good faith because there was no concern for later fraud. Instead the lead negotiator advised the teachers NOT to agree to anything until the district has put it in writing.
Just an interesting tid bit I thought I'd share with you. Wonder why the od doesn't cover the other school districts as thoroughly as it does Utica.

I think because it's not news worthy. there is no real drama there because its as good as a done deal.
close one of the elementary schools in W'boro or add 30 burmese children and you'd have something to talk about.
Places like HP NH and W'boro have this level of solidarity with their schools. Utica is much different. Perhaps its because you have more people paying school taxes without actually having any children to attend those schools. I don't know. Easy target I guess.

But new hartford teachers agreeing to their contract was front page news. And it received coverage leading up to and after they ratified the contract.
