Hey, that's not nice. He's a grandfather. And us grandfathers should be given a little leeway.

Yep, you can say that Stoney as long as you don't call anyone a "dick". I don't allow my name to be taken in vain. I may have to go revise the forbidden word list again, ROFL. Stoney is probably slapping him around because he is a teaparty candidate , and I just think that he has a big mouth that he puts in gear without thought for his political future, and is making an unelectable ass of himself with his rants and bigotry.

A face book friend clarified some definitions for me today. Recession: That is when your neighbor is out of work. Depression: That is when YOU are out of work. Recovery: That will be when Pelosi, Reid and Obama lose THEIR jobs. ( Just thought I would get the big wooden spoon out and stir the liberal's pot a little, Hehe )

I saw Paladino on WKTV yesterday. This guy is either totally clueless or one hell of a bullshit artist. How in hell the voter's picked this character over Lazio in the primary in beyond me. Rebublican voters handed the election to Cuomo lock, stock & barrell when they picked this clown as the candidate. Paladino is another example of GOP backed TPM candidates that have no business running for anything.

All politicians are alike to me, each vying for support by pandering to our wants and needs. Given that, I think that before anyone totally dismisses Paladino, it might be worthwhile to read his wiki entry at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_PaladinoSnubbed by party bigwigs, he organized a petition drive and won the right to a primary election battle against Long Island's Lazio. Then he got out the vote and beat a candidate with a lot of downstate support. And how can you not like a guy who proposes: "hard term limits of eight years on all elected officials within the state's jurisdiction, including county and local governments.[45] He also desires to see their positions declared "part time" and as such ineligible for a state pension or lifetime medical coverage; in addition, he opposes automatic cost of living adjustment increases and seeks to force legislators to take an up or down vote on their own pay raises."Yes, I know the above would be quite a battle, but Cuomo won't even try it. So, I have to ask, when you go to the polls in November and pull the lever, exactly what is it you'll be voting for? In Delaware (O'Donnell vs Coons) voters will no doubt be casting their vote based on Saturday Night Live caricatures. Here in NY where we are about to be spent into the ground, I think we should vote on the issues.

.......and the battle continues. US District Court Judge David Hurd rules and allows non-Indians to purchase cigarettes tax-free until the pending litigations is completed. HURRAY! It's not a rather of whether you smoke or not. It's a matter of over taxing everything except the air we breathe and the way they're going I'm sure they'll get to that in the future.

I always have to laugh when I hear politicians decry the Oneidas and other Indian Tribes to "pay their fair share of taxes" or to put up border fences.
The state court of appeals determined that the compact violate the state constitution because the state senate did not confirm it. then-governor Cuomo (and other supporters including newly retired politician dave townsend) insisted that this was not the case. However, the federal courts have upheld the compact's validity. In fact, in one federal case where the state tried to sue the Oneidas based on the compact, the court denied accepting an amended complaint that made the argument the casino was illegal because of the court of appeals decision declaring the compact illegal. That case denied the amended complaint, and found it lacked subject matter jurisdiction. The decision caused the state to withdraw its lawsuit against the Oneidas, with prejudice. And every federal case since, including on appeal, has affirmed the compact's validity. So, in short, the compact is valid, and the Casino is LEGAL.
In 1994, the US Supreme Court opined that the states could collect sales taxes from sales to non-Indians. In response, the state included a line on NYS Income Tax returns for non-Indians to declare unpaid sales taxes for purchases made in counties with lesser sales taxes than the filer's resident county, other states, or Indian reservations. In 2010, the New York Court of Appeals declared Indian Tribes EXEMPT from new york state tax law. So, now even the state's highest court is effectively saying that the Oneidas and other Indian Tribes in New York State do NOT owe any taxes.
For those who argue the insane garbage of putting border fences, all I can point out is your true lack of understanding about the situation. New York State is considered a LIMITED sovereignty (a concept that you should understand if you are to understand how this country formed) The Oneida Indian Nation's sovereignty is akin to new york's. Just as it would be unconstitutional for new york to put up border fences along the PA-NY line, the NY-NY line, the CT-NY, the Canadia-NY line, etc., it would also be unconstitutional for new york to attempt the same with the Oneidas. The OIN is still under federal jurisidiction (just like NYS and all the other states in the union). So it is always a belly-aching laugh I have for people foolish enough to say such silly things and putting up border fences and requiring passports to venture onto Nation Land.
In short, whatever battle is expected, it will be as short lived as Paladino's term in the Governor's Mansion. :-)
