I opened my hotmail email account this morning and although the emails were still able to be read in english, the titles of the folders and the options at the top, such as new, delete, forward, etc. were all in a foreign language and at the bottom was something about indonesian. I now can't get in to change the password or even to close and delete the account. Anyone have any suggestions and has anyone else had the problem?

It seems odd you were able to get into the account ... to read some of the mail, no matter the languages ... and not be able to change the password. Well Dave, the saga continues. I cannot get into my facebook account today. I opened a new email account yesterday at clipper220@live.com, and I also use the tnbassbuster@yahoo.com.
Seeing as how I opened the facebook account with the hotmail email account, I was unable to log in this morning on facebook. I am waiting now for an email from facebook to assist me in accessing my facebook account. For someone that spends as much time on the internet as I do, this is very inconvenient.
Thanks for the reply. I tried to work with hotmail and was unsuccessful. Doesn't that figure? They say hotmail is not the most secure or efficient email to use.

I believe that the hacking came from my facebook Zynga poker account that was compromised a week or two ago. Zynga is not operated by facebook. It is operated by a company in San Francisco, but actually belongs to and indonesian company as per a friend of mine. You have to be very careful in clicking on applications and games on facebook.
Thank goodness I am old fashioned and have never used a credit card or put any personal information on the web to be hacked. I don't do banking or bill paying by internet.

Is that the tab on your FB page that is written in Chinese?  ?? (or are those the hackers) You say you can't get into FB so how did you post that notice on you rwall that your account was compromised. ...............And again I repeat......do not put email addresses on the Internet...this is one of the reasons. You should have sent a PM to all with a new email address to send to on here. Can you think of any other place that copies your address book like a greeting card site....maybe you can access the email addresses that way. PS...I don't play farm game or any other of those apps on there. They are just there to gather information (or steal it one way or the other) I limit what I do on FB and still don't trust them. |

Yep Chris the chinese writing is the hackers and that spot on the header is where it used to say zynga texas holdem. I opened a new facebook page and it has my red truck for a profile picture. If you are seeing the page with me wearing a yellow shirt, delete it, block it or unfriend it, and use the one with the new truck for a profile picture.
I used to only play that poker site on FB, but now I won't be playing anything on there. I never was into the apps that ask for a cell phone number or personal info anyhow, but I will be very careful in the future what I click on. Facebook is very insecure.
