I go to this every year and never get tired of it. This is in Rochester. Do you come here or are you thinking of St. Stan's on Nichol Street.

I attended the one in Rochester just once, many years ago. I was driving charter buses for a part time job, and I took the Utica Polka League to Rochester to attend that festival. I was surprised that they didn't make it an annual trip. It was great. Food was wonderful as was the music. If anyone gets a chance to attend, you won't be disappointed. It's only about 2 1/2 hours from Utica, and it would be a wonderful day trip for a family.
Put it on your calendar for next year. Sorry ya missed it this year.

Oops -- I got it confused with St. Mary's in NYM!

LOL That is another great festival Strike. I always attended that one also, along with the festival at Holy Trinity on Lincoln Ave. I also used to travel to Hunter Mountain Ski area for the annual Polka Festival every year when I was younger.
NO, I am not polish, nor did I ever play a Polish person on TV. I am simply addicted to perogi's and to keilbasa sandwiches, and I absolutely love polka music. My sweetheart comes from a family with Polish, Ukranian, and Lithuanian ancestry. She makes outstanding perogi, and galumpki. We always buy several pounds of good keilbasa while in Utica. She likes Hapanowicz's and I like Pulaski Meat Market's keilbasa so we often buy ten pounds of each, freeze it and transport it home here to Tennessee in dry ice. (along with Chanatry's hot sausage, and Hoffman franks. Yes, Utica is quite a commute for the average grocery shopping trip, but I sure enjoy my Utica treats for a month or two after our normal vacation trips up there.
( I DO get some strange looks when I put a polka CD in the stereo in my truck and pull up next to someone with their blue grass cranking out of their speakers. LOL.)

Yesterday went to St Josaphats (Ukie Fest) This one is huge ...but then they have more ground to put it on where as St Stans is smaller grounds. Got my fill of peirogis and golumbki, kielbasa etc. (that was my dinner for the day and then checked out the huge crafts)....bought four eggs (pysanky) and an ornament for my tree come Christmas. The lady might give me egg painting lessons (I hope) took my number and hopefully will call. It is hard to find someone to teach. I need on hands experience. I have videos, books etc with instructions but not the same. Clipper I have a Polish CD (modern) you might like or your wife if you want a copy I can burn one for you. A friend of mine sent me a copy and it is one I listen to.... (on my ipod) Send me your address if interested) Never went to Hunter mountain....still on my bucket list. This one is the bomb www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=199475&id=227343804836

I would love that Chris. I will send you a personal message with my address. Thank you very much. I am hoping to be able to also get a CD with some of the music from the 5's and 60's band reunion. I hope they put one out at some point. It must have been a great time, judging from what I have read on here about it. Have a great day Chris, and thanks again.
