Police Officer Appreciation Week!

Right now there is a police officer helping someone. A police officer
working the streets day/night so that they are safe for you. A police
officer missing their family while caring for yours. In the minute it
took for you to read this, Police officers all over the world are
saving lives. It's Police Officer appreciation week.

Keep those law enforcement officers and their families in your thoughts and prayers. I for one am eternally grateful for the service they perform in the face of grave danger.

Just received the very sad news that retired Lieutenant George Nicholson has passed away. My condolences and deepest sympathy goes out to George's family, friends and to all his brothers and sisters at the UPD.

We will always remember George for his total dedication of service for over 30 yrs to the UPD, the PBA and to his entire community. He is a "street cop" as I always referred to him. One who was always fair in all his actions and decisions who worked for and deserved the respect given to him.

RIP Lieutenant Nicholson in knowing we will always remember you as one of Utica's finest.
