Listening to Coast to coast AM (Art Bell's old show) they were saying it was being changed to a cooking show....Tast to Taste. I know yesterday was April Fool's day so hope this part of it. I need my aliens and wackos fix. I already have Martha for cooking. Hope this was a big joke. Still waiting to hear further. Just before I logged in here I read on line Obama says Rush and Beck are purveyors of vitriol. Someone on the coast show asked if Obama had anything to do with them changing. I sure hope not. If so good bye freedom of Speech and America and hello Communism. news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts1437

It is called freedom of speech, and if anything causes "vitriol" it is Obama's manner of governing by deception and duress. What does he expect when he screws us and doesn't kiss us first. Are we expected to be eternally grateful to him for subverting democracy and ignoring public outcry in the interest of his own agenda?

With all due respect, Clip, give me a break.

Give ME a break Stoney. What is any different with his campaign to derail talk radio just because they don't agree with his agenda? He is as guilty as they are. It has been a pretty wide spread opinion since day one of his presidency that he is trying to influence or stifle mainstream media outlets like fox news, simply because they don't agree with his views.
Now, in all honesty, don't you think that maybe, just maybe, some of the vitriol that they are talking about might have originated with the way that the healthcare initiative was rammed through? In reality, or in perception, that damned healthcare bill caused the major portion of the vitriol, and one would have to be blind not to see that.
Like I told Dave earlier today in a post. I am not a right wing extremist. I am just a pissed off American, trying to get by on what I have, and worked 50 years for, and not wanting to give it to someone that doesn't deserve it or appreciate it, and will be back looking for more next year.
THAT is not a crime, and that is a lot of what drives the "vitriol" as Obama likes to call the public outcry.

If the version cited by Chris is accurate, I don't think any of us would disagree with the tone. Obama never says they are purveyors of vitriol. I don't think Obama has said anything different about Beck and Limbaugh than many of us have said here on the Corner. If fact, he was more kind than we have been. Granted, there's a fine line between defending oneself and a chilling effect when your office carries such weight. news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20100402/ts_ynews/ynews_ts1437

"Walking with Smith on the grounds of the White House, the president said that he is "concerned about a political climate in which the other side is demonized" and that "everybody has a responsibility, Democrats or Republicans, to tone down some of this rhetoric." What's different about today, Obama suggested, is the way overheated rhetoric has moved into the mainstream."
I agree that the demonization of the other side needs to stop. I didn't, and don't like Obama, but I was not as adamantly against him until he started blaming every damn problem the world has on the Bush administration and the Republicans, and continues to do so today. "Moving it into the mainstream" has been as much his doing as that of the Republicans.
His favorite word lately is "vitriol". Well, as Rush Limbaugh stated in an interview, he should know what vitriol is after listening to Rev. Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, with his racist and radical preaching.
It is time for both sides to put aside the partisan garbage and work toward a common goal of creating jobs and stabilizing the economy. It is an area where balance is needed and the Republicans need to choke down some of their elitist ideas and work to straighten out the mess that BOTH parties have gotten us into. Jobs are the main priority that we should be looking at right now. Jobs and illegal immigration. Stop the influx of illegals and put the American people back to work through refocusing our attention on bringing our industry home. Make it here, sell it here, and if anyone wants an imported version of it, let them pay an enormous import duty to get it.

I don't think we're going to see the illegal immigration situation change very soon. Many employers don't want to pay much for unskilled labor and many legal aliens and born-Americans would rather live on welfare than do the work illegals do. Building a taller wall with either bricks or enforcement would cause an upsurge in cost of production and prices. I have to assume Washington ... the last one and the current one ... don't want that and so are not trying real hard to fix the problem. And too, if you're a wealthy Senator or part of the Washington elite, beholden to business interests, maybe you don't really think there IS a problem.

Just to add a thought ... maybe the illegal alien situation in a way proves my point about a vast segment of our society for whom we don't have anything to do. In such a society, to keep the haves from getting too far away from the have-nots (that's spelled REVOLUTION), we provide a pretty basic means of living. There are low skill jobs available to those who want them, but they are not very attractive to those who can live almost as well on welfare and odd jobs worked under the radar. In this environment, business cannot find cheap labor and don't want to pay more and thus increase their costs. Just below us across the border are men and women who will work cheap if they can get over here. They probably won't come over legally for a number of reasons. It ain't that easy to get a green card. Here's a quote from the website of a law firm that works with those seeking green cards: "There are four ways to obtain a green card – a status of a permanent resident alien in the USA. One can immigrate on the basis of (a) family relations; (b) employment/professional skills; (c) by winning in a Diversity Lottery; or (d) by obtaining a status of refugee/political asylum." I don't think yard work qualifies.

Get here, have baby here, stay here forever.
Worked for thousands so far.
Obama doesn't like the vitriol floating around on the airwaves about him and his administration.......maybe he should work on changing why it is floating around to begin with.
