Howard Stern confirmed that he is in talks with Idol folks aimed at his possibly taking Simon Cowell's place on the show.
I can't imagine that they would even consider taking a wholesome American favorite and "polluting it" with Stern's filthy shit and perverted personality.
The program has already begun to degrade into nothing but a popularity contest of who has the most friends with cell phones, nothing better to do than vote from their cell phones mulitple times.
Paula bit the dust, thinking that she was actually WORTH a raise. Ellen DeGeneres will bring humor and fun to the program, but I doubt that it will survive much longer without Simon at the end of the judges table. Especially if they put someone as digusting and repulsive as Howard Stern in the driver's seat.
If I were Ryan Seacrest I would start scouting about for a job. The AI show is going down the toilet. May Ryan can also secure a place for Randy, and his "Yo dog" personality.

Corner, I have to believe that in the long run ... maybe short run ... the attitudes you cite will only lead to more crime as people try to satisfy their unrealistic expectations.
And not many are willing to work all that hard for their success.
I've been listening to Derek Trucks for the past week on YouTube and downloading music from Lala. Sure his uncle was the drummer for the Allman Brothers and Derek himself is a unique and gifted prodigy. But the kid formed his dream at age seven, worked at it every waking hour he wasn't in school and was touring professionally at age TEN. Today at 30 he's been hailed as the greatest slide guitar player in the world! And some kids think they can just pick up a guitar and play like this? Here he is with his band: (He also tours with the Allman Bros and with his wife, blues singer Susan Tedeschi.)

As long as I'm at it, Susan is quite an act, herself: (You may have to click through to YouTube.)

ive seen them both true talents but blues players very rarely get payed well and i agree that many of these kids want fame without the work and it will increase the crime rates...thes club hopping mtv ers have no clue about living in the real world...

I can't picture Howard Stern either as a replacement for Simon and I don't like his "potty mouth". But I did hear he has the background qualifications for it. (was a music producer or something to that effect) I don't watch AI so really don't care if it stays on or off. I do think it has seen its run....hence all the jumping ship and moving around of furniture. Once Simon is gone it really won't be the AI (excluding the talent).

Chris, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? I miss ya girlfriend. Ya gotta make more trips to the library. I do watch the A. Idol faithfully and if Simon leaves I'll follow him to his other show. The Idol isn't the same either without Paula now. I miss her fooling around with Simon and giving him some sh*t. ;D Can't stand Stern or his so-call-it sense of humor. It will be my last year watching the Idol definitely if Stern takes over. Hurry back girlfriend!

Paula was unstable and a little addicted to pain killers as a result of her bus accident. SHE thought that she was worth more than the producers obviously thought. She cooked her own goose and will find another gig. When Simon leaves it will not be the same. I DO like it with Ellen DeGeneres on there. She is more talented and brings more to the show than I thought she would. Her criticism is constructive. Randy and his "Dog" and "Dude" crap bother me more than the others do.

Yeah, but Paula was funny and brought some lightness to the show with her attacks on Simon. From the rumors floating around Simon is going to ask Paula to be on his other show. If that takes place I will definitely be a watcher. Don't know why they even brought a fourth judge into the mix. When it was only Simon, Paula and Randy I enjoyed the show much more then now.

Don't know about anyone else but I've watched the A. Idol both nights this week and I'm finding it rather boring then previous years. The talent in both the guys and girls are not even close to former contestants in past shows. No one's performance excited me or give me any chills in hearing them tonight. I hope they improve and improve greatly for me to continue to watch the whole show this year. The judges sucked and carried on too much about each contestant. It was like the judges were apologizing to each contestant for the bad performances each gave. Plus, with four judges taking up time with their comments you hear less of the contestants singing. So far, I'm very disappointed in the show this season and can see it going down hill fast.

It took just two shows for Kathy and I to realize that American Idol sucks with the new judging panel and the lack of talent in this year's contest. The men were terrible last night. I see nobody that I would follow with interest for the entire season and root for as I have in years gone by. I think AI is looking at it's last season. It has gotten to be nothing more than a contest of who can call the most and the fastest on their cell phone to vote for a friend, and not based on their talent, but on their popularity.
