Here's another political snake charmer. Tina Rutnik, now known as Kirsten Gillibrand since her entry on the national political scene, also promises she can bring jobs to New York. Where in New York? Wherever.... www.observertoday.com/page/content.detail/id/532879.html?nav=5047I've read that Rutnik will face stiff competition when she runs for office (she was appointed to fill Hilary Clinton's term as US Senator, having previously served as a state rep for a very short time, and before that as president of her PTA. She was appointed United States Senator by a guy who also wasn't elected, Governor Patterson. Name a Sarah Palin detractor who has made similar comments about the inexperience of Rutnik.)

If you were to put all 62 State Senators in two buses and drive them ( along with the Governor) into the Hudson, you would attract more business in New York than ever thought possible. ;D I am simply voting for anyone whose name I don't recognize.

Write it up as something we can pitch to NBC to run M-F at 10. Remember there are 50 states plus DC.

The problem here is that the non-recognizable names on the ballot are token candidates put there on purpose to ensure that the incumbents win. Hanna is the first true political opponent I've seen since I have followed local politics.

Good post, Swimmy! Remember I said this... Hanna will win with between 54-56%. It won't be close.

Larry, you donated to Arcuri's campaign in 2008, right?

A lot of democrats voted for Aruri in 2008 that won't be voting for him again Stoney. The fire breathing advocate from CNY turned out to be a wimpering little puppy sitting on the lap of Pelosi and taking directions from anyone that patted him on the head and told him he was doing good for the party.
He is a weasel that sold out the voters that put him in office, and the district that he represents. He promotes only HIS agenda, not the good of the district.

I voted for him the first time, but not the second. I won't be voting for him this third time either.

Yeah.
Still, you gotta wonder how an honest politician survives these days. Unless you're a billionaire, like Bloomberg in NY City, you have to curry favor with the party bosses to get any money for your campaign. Individual contributions from citizens in your district just aren't enough to counter the millions coming to your opponent from his party, with whom he or she cooperates to the fullest.
I can imagine a candidate saying to his controllers, "Yeah, but what you want me to support doesn't agree with my the opinions of my constituents!"
And their answer might be, "Don't worry about it. None of your voters is keeping track. We'll flood the airwaves with horsesh*t three weeks before the elections and the sheep will file into the voting booth and pull your lever. Works every time!"
Which is what makes me worrisome about the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing corporations carte blanche in the financing of campaigns. More money, more horsesh*t.

I sure did, Stoney. Any other stupid little comments you and Mello want to make? You're not cute. I did donate about $400 to him right after I was elected. I also donated $200 to Roann Destito. It's all online, not very secret. You see, I was just elected and actually believed in teamwork and trying to accomplish something for THE PEOPLE. Unfortunately, I learned very quick that it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the people when it comes to this whole crowd. I fought the County Republicans harder than any other legislator ever, and although I expected a battle from the GOP, I didn't expect to get attacked by my own party. It's one big group of wannabe power brokers that only care about maintatining the status-quo.
Like Clipper said, there are many Democrats that stumped for Arcuri the last two elections. And I will bet you ANYTHING that it will all end on November 2nd. Just like the people finally caught onto Mello, Timmy, etc. they are catching onto this group too.

No shame in making mistakes, the shame is in not learning from them. All of have done something similar. Too bad we can't use the phrase, "Upon further review, the pass is ruled incomplete."

lol, I agree. It's too bad you can't appeal an election and have it reversed on grounds of failure to keep promises.

How did he get into this? You gave to Destito too? I thought you were going to run against her? (And as far as being 'cute' you're not exactly a bundle of joy either. ;D)
